Alexis (Lexi) Brown is a photographer, filmmaker, writer, and community builder. Lexi first was recognized nationally at age 12 for her photography, and has been creating ever since. She built her foundation in classical music, studying opera at Manhattan School of Music while simultaneously building a career in visual art. She’s worked with clients such as Vrbo, Polaroid, Fujifilm, Lumix, travel agencies, tourism boards, and many more. She has combined both of her passions into a directing career, with her first film “Sunny Side Up” in the festival circuit. Her sophomore film will go into production in November of this year. Lexi is passionate about using storytelling to evoke empathy and eliminate indifference. In her experience feeling misunderstood, she uses her unique gifts to guide others to a place of understanding and authenticity. In this episode, we discuss how Lexi started photography at a young age, how she built her portfolio, why she loves to travel, digital vs film, her experience directing her first short film, how her autism diagnosis affected her work, and more.
