The line between Christian fantasy and darker influences has never been more blurred. In this powerful, eye-opening conversation, human trafficking survivor and advocate David Solomon joins Justin Alan Hayes to expose what he describes as "wolves in sheep's clothing" operating within supposedly faith-based writing conferences.
Solomon pulls back the curtain on Realm Makers, an organization presenting itself as a Christian fantasy writers' conference that has allegedly strayed far from its foundational values. The discussion reveals troubling choices of guest speakers, including the creator of League of Legends—a game featuring transgenderism, feminism, and even Satan as a positive character—as a keynote speaker at an event marketed to Christian families.
"These are people that are going to come, that love Jesus with all their heart, that want to serve him, that want to follow his word and not be deceived," Solomon states passionately. "And there are wolves in sheep's clothing that are going to be upright, center front in their eye saying, 'Hi, shake my paw and I'll lead you to the wolf pack.'"
The conversation delves into the concerning bait-and-switch tactics where families spend significant money expecting faith-aligned content only to encounter something entirely different. Even more alarming are Solomon's firsthand accounts of how predatory relationships can begin through seemingly innocent author-reader connections before evolving into something dangerous—especially when children are involved.
Perhaps most disturbing is the revelation that some of these authors are successfully placing their books into homeschool curriculums across multiple states, potentially expanding their influence directly into educational materials. As Solomon puts it, "What makes us different from secular creators is that we are anointed with the word of God... We have a responsibility, dignity and honor to the gift that God has given us."
