St George is growing fast and the roads are getting rougher. Speeding, red light runners, distraction, and following too close are causing most of the crashes police respond to. Officer Mitchell talks about what she sees every day: drivers going through intersections while looking at their phones, rushing to beat the lights, and sitting inches from another car’s bumper.

Hit-and-run accidents are happening more often. Many drivers leave the scene even though it is a crime that can lead to a suspended license and an impounded car. Parking lot cameras rarely capture the stalls, making it harder for police to track people down.

Insurance costs in Washington County keep rising due to frequent crashes. Better driving helps everyone. Utah policies include PIP benefits, but many drivers do not know they have them. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is essential when the other driver has expired insurance.

Dash cams and Tesla cameras often show the truth when no one else saw what happened.

Slowing down, leaving earlier, and paying attention could prevent most of the collisions happening now in St George and all over the world.

A distracted driver is a dangerous driver.
