Manage episode 493867954 series 3506250
I love history and looking at old photos from the 50's and earlier. It's fun to think about what life was like 100 years ago and how people did things so differently than we do today.
What would you think if you saw a crowd of people lining the river bank while two people waded into the water? A hundred years ago, I bet most people would have known exactly what was going on!
For this episode, we let you behind the curtain of our private life and share a special moment where I baptized my youngest daughter Grace. At 13 years old she fully understands her need for a relationship with Jesus and the forgiveness for sin that He offers for all of us.
Except we didn't do this in our church with a nice heated water tank...Grace wanted to go old school and do this in the river in our town in front of family, friends and whoever happened to pass by.
As a kid who grew up being able to count the number of times I went to church, I really wanted to explain what Baptism actually is, what it does and what it doesn't do.
So if you are confused about the whole practice of Baptism, I will make it real clear, real quick.
