We had a chance to sit down with Winfried Kerschhaggl who is the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship Series Manager. We get to know who he is and where his passion for motorcycling began. For those who may not know the series started out as the “World Enduro Super Series” also known as WESS with a broader enduro focus before evolving into the Hard Enduro World Championship it is today.

2024 was a thrilling season and Winfried shares his highlights from a series manager’s perspective. From the return of injured riders to race organizational improvements there are many areas that stand out. There are often challenges that need to be overcome or areas for improvement in such a large operation, we discuss some of these challenges in more detail and get a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes.

Lastly, we talk about Winfred’s vision for the future of Hard Enduro. With the aim of becoming a truly global championship, there are key adjustments that are being taken into consideration not only from a formatting perspective but also from a financial perspective. With big goals and an ambitious team, we are excited to see what the future of the championship has in store.
