#17: Am I Autistic or Just Sensitive? How Exploring Neurodivergence Helped Me Unmask, Heal Burnout, and Reclaim Self-Trust
Manage episode 489505840 series 3615128
For most of my life, I felt too sensitive, deep, intense, and exhausted. But the truth is, I was simply wired differently. And recently, I’ve been exploring what that actually means.
In this deeply personal episode, I share my journey of unmasking and exploring autism, as well as neurodivergent presentations as a whole—and how this clarity is helping me make sense of the lifelong patterns I never had words for: the burnout, the shutdowns, the overwhelm, the deep sensitivity and empathic abilities that always felt like a flaw. and like a lot to live with.
This exploration has been wildly enlightening, validating, and healing, and I want to bring you into it. Because more than ever, I believe we need real, unmasked, vulnerable conversations—and I know I’m not the only one yearning for them.
My hope is that this episode not only offers insight, comfort, and reflection, but also helps you feel less alone—whether or not you identify as neurodivergent. We are all walking our own soul curriculum. This journey is about self-reclamation. About coming home. And really, that’s what this episode—and all of my work—is about.
Inside this episode, I offer:
- The signs and traits that led me to explore my own neurodivergence
- The emotional impact of growing up without the language to understand yourself
- How I’m learning to care for my highly sensitive system as a mom
- Tools and practices that support anyone navigating stress, sensory overload, or burnout
