The Importance of Data Collection During the COVID-19 Pandemic Changes in health care practice meant to save personal protective equipment (PPE) and limit health care professionals’ exposure to COVID-19, such as placing infusion pumps and/or ventilators outside the patient’s room, may cause concern among clinicians. At a time when practice modifications are necessary to manage current health care demands, meticulous data collection has never been more important. The data will supply necessary information to help understand the impact that these changes have on patient safety and quality outcomes.
