Hobby projects are a great opportunity to learn and explore software development at your own pace. This talk will present the story around Chunkyard, a backup tool with a single user: me Chunkyard is a backup tool that I have been building for myself over the last five years. It's a hobby project with which I can follow my curiosity to learn and enjoy different aspects of software development. Since I am the only real user, I can do whatever I feel like. In this talk I am going to share what I have learned over the years while building this tiny piece of "home-cooked software".
