Topics included the impact of the 2019 HSTPA regulation on rent stabilized properties; the need for the government to incentivize private investment in rent stabilized buildings; rising expenses to operate buildings including insurance costs and unfunded mandates approved by elected officials; how tenants are affected negatively when living conditions deteriorate due to the lack of investment in properties; and the need for government and the private sector to collaborate to identify solutions.
