I've got a real treat for you today with lots of actionable tips. I talk to fellow life coaches Bridget and Becky about their stress reset course (see below for link and discount code) that they are creating. Their tools and modalities tie in nicely with the Hiply process. They talk about nervous system regulation, the window of tolerance and give lots of tips and quick relief tools for when you're feeling stressed and tarry. Enjoy!

Stress and tarry feelings are closely related. Bridget points out that awareness precedes change and choice. When you are showing up in the emotions of stress, overwhelm, frustration, anxiety, it doesn't feel like you have a lot of choice. There's these automatic behaviors and responses and I think that is where when you start to become more aware of some of these practices that we teach in the course, it gives you the ability to stop and pause and have awareness for what's happening in your body, what's happening around you what's happening as you create these thoughts, and it allows you to be able to to make a choice.

Accepting does not mean you're accepting what is happening but accepting how you're feeling.

Quick relief tool tips - shaking it out - get the energy out of the body, move, shake or dance, let the steam out and then move into down regulating breath.

Another relief tool: Boxed lion breath, which is box breathing with lion's breath combination.

We talk about survival patterns - which are related to the way we express when we feel overwhelmed and it's different for everyone. These patterns are installed in childhood, and Becky reminds us that you are not your patterns. The patterns are the leaving patterns, the merging pattern, the rigid pattern, the enduring pattern and the aggressive pattern.
