Today, we dive into stabilization vs. flexion exercises for degenerative spondylolisthesis in a randomized control trial. Degenerative spondylolisthesis involves vertebral displacement due to degenerative changes. It's more common in people over 50 and significantly more in women. The L4-L5 area is often affected, causing foraminal and central stenosis. Small displacements can lead to significant compression and symptoms like chronic low back pain and radiculopathy. Conservative treatment before considering surgery is crucial. Exercise, mainly stabilization, has shown to be beneficial over time. The study examined individuals over 50 with degenerative spondylolisthesis at L4-L5.
