At his RESTORE Center for Endometriosis in St. Louis, MO, Dr. Yeung specializes in Optimal Excision by LAPEX (Laparoscopic Excision) Surgery, a groundbreaking approach that represents a paradigm shift in endometriosis treatment. Dr. Yeung also focuses on removing every trace of the disease—wherever he finds it in the body—and on post-operative adhesion (scar tissue) prevention. As a result, the RESTORE Center boasts a mere 2.5% rate of repeat surgeries in 10 years. By contrast, the vast majority of gynecologists performing endometriosis surgery use ablation (not excision), do nothing to prevent post-op adhesions, and then either rely upon hormonal birth control to suppress further symptoms, or refer a woman for IVF if pregnancy is desired—all of which does little to improve a patient's symptoms or improve or restore her natural fertility.
