Welcome back to The On-Call Empath. Today’s episode is deeply personal—and honestly, a celebration. For the first time in my life, I can say this with confidence: I am no longer controlled by my triggers. And if you’re someone who feels like you’re constantly reacting, spiraling, or shutting down—this one’s for you.

Emotional triggers used to run my life. A comment, a tone, a look—anything could send me into a tailspin. I’d overthink for days, disconnect, or get defensive. But what I’ve realized is this: most of our strongest triggers stem from unhealed wounds, often rooted in childhood. When we felt unsafe, unheard, or unseen, we learned to protect ourselves. And those protections? They become reactions in adulthood.

Today, I’m going to share some of my own triggers—yes, the real ones—and the journey I took to face them, understand them, and ultimately, reclaim my peace. This episode isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. It’s about what happens when you stop fearing your emotions and start listening to what they’re trying to teach you.

My hope is that by opening up, you’ll see parts of your own story—and begin to believe that managing triggers is possible. Healing is possible. So let’s dive in. This is where the transformation begins.
