Ep. 10 COVID 19, the Brain, and Mental Health
Manage episode 318544105 series 3275823
In this episode we discuss the impact of the COVID 19 virus, SARS-CoV-2, and its impact on the brain, nervous system and mental health. Originally thought to be a respiratory virus, the medical community is learning that COVID 19 has broader impact on the neurological body systems. The short and long term implications are not yet fully understood, however, emerging literature is demonstrating the COVID 19 has implications for neuropsychiatric and cognitive functions. We also take a look at some demographic disparities as well. Our hope is to keep the general public informed about the latest science concerning mental health and brain science.
