No. 17 - SPRING TONICS and RITUALS – – rituals around welcoming the warming of the earth for Potent growth.

There are 8 major markers which make of the wheel or cycles through the seasons of each Year and mark the changing of the earth’s relationship with and rotation around our Sun. There are quarter days and cross-quarter days. The quarter days are made up of the Equinoxes or balance points (Spring and Fall) and the Solstices – most extreme light or dark (Summer and Winter). Also in many cultures the cross- quarter days are also known as points of celebration including Brigits Day or Candlemas (Feb. 1), May Day and spring celebrations (May 1), Harvest festival (August 1) and Halloween/ All Souls and All Saints Day (Oct. 31).These cycles of the seasons have been celebrated since time immemorial in various ways. Going back to Greek and Roman times, Celtic and Druidic celebrations and even older, all the seasons were honored with festivals celebrating the earth changes. Life depends on the crops growing and the animals giving birth to sustain our culture.
