In one of our early "Practice Episodes" while preparing to launch the @WaterFromTheRoc podcast, we asked ourselves "What would be doing if we weren't in our current careers? We all have those "what if" moments, those daydreams that flicker at the edges of our reality. What if I hadn't taken this job? What if I'd pursued that passion? Recently, in a podcast episode, we dove headfirst into this very question – "If I wasn't in my current career, what would I be doing?" The answers were as varied as the personalities of the panelists.
This got us thinking about how often we define ourselves by our chosen careers, forgetting the underlying passions that might have led us down a different route. It also made me appreciate the power of versatility, the ability to adapt and explore different avenues. It's not about dismissing our current roles, but rather acknowledging the spectrum of possibilities that reside within us.
It made me think of another kind of versatility, the kind that transcends career paths: the ability to make your voice heard, to express yourself powerfully. And that, naturally, led me to contemplate the words of one of the masters of expression - Jay-Z.
