Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said Prayer is vital to the Christian. You remember how our Lord put it, that men should always pray and not faint. The alternative to praying is fainting. Saints Paul, says it this way. “Pray without ceasing” (1Th_5:17). Paul's idea of "Pray without ceasing" means more than just attending long prayer meetings. Prayer is a way of life, more about attitude than words. Paul told the Romans that the Spirit prays for us with groans that words cannot express. Often, we don't have the right words, but we're still praying. It's the whole life behind the spoken words that makes prayer effective.
