In this segment, Dr. Gordon discusses the obesity factor in the rise of asthma. "Fat is metabolically active which means that fat does stuff," she says. "One of the things that fat does is it causes inflammation in the body." Dr. Gordon received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Florida A & M University and her Doctor of Medicine from the Morsani College of Medicine at University of South Florida. She is board-certified in General Pediatrics as well as Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine. Her clinical interests include health disparities, obesity, and reproductive health. She happens to be an asthmatic as is Marci Kenon, the host of Meet Ellen.
