844 | The Hairdryer Cord - Strengthening Your Mindset for Success
Manage episode 477668281 series 3105660
In this episode, I share some stats about the sheer volume of daily thoughts—between 60,000 and 80,000, with a staggering 80-90% being repetitive and predominantly negative. This repetition can create thick neural pathways in our brains, reinforcing doubts, fears and limiting beliefs. I use a vivid analogy comparing our thoughts to a hairdryer cord, illustrating how negative thoughts can become strong and durable while positive thoughts often remain fragile and underdeveloped.
Throughout the episode, I encourage listeners to recognize the power of their language and internal dialogue. I challenge them to identify the negative beliefs they may be reinforcing and to consciously work on building new, empowering thoughts. I emphasize that change is possible and that we can create new neural pathways through repetition and intention. The metaphor of a string vs a hairdryer cord landed visually, and I knew I wanted to share it!
