Manage episode 511401344 series 3105660
In this episode, I am sharing the concept of "armour" and how it impacts our lives, drawing inspiration from a powerful quote by Brené Brown. I reflect on my personal journey of wearing this metaphorical armour, which I initially believed was a protective shield against judgment, criticism, and the opinions of others. This armour, while it served a purpose for a time, became a suffocating prison. I learned that dropping the armour allowed me to embrace vulnerability, find my voice, and heal. I emphasize the importance of recognizing that our motivation can either stem from avoiding pain or moving towards pleasure. Many of us are great at articulating what we don’t want, but struggle to define what we truly desire. I share the difference between defensive armour, which is fear-based and limiting, and "unbothered armour," which supports our boundaries and personal growth. This unbothered armour is about using daily practices and resources to maintain a balanced and regulated nervous system, allowing us to stand tall in the face of criticism and challenges.
