Caring about your health, and the health of loved ones, is important, whether it’s trying to manage a chronic condition or disease, healing from an injury, attempting to decrease inflammation, or taking preventative action to insure healthy longevity. But, for some, an all-consuming focus on health may result in negative side effects, resulting in “healthism,” the belief that, in the pursuit of health, there is a “right” and “moral” way. Tune in this week as I further explain what healthism is, its origins, how it shows up in everyday life, and why it is problematic. I’ll share 4 tips to shift away from a healthism mindset.
