Then came the corporate mindset, embodied by people like Ray Kroc, who turned McDonald’s into a soulless empire, crushing small businesses along the way.

I share a real-life example of a restaurant owner who refused to invest in expert advice, even though he was desperate to keep his family business alive. He wanted something for nothing—and within 14 months, his business was gone.
